The Rules

Billfish Rules

  • Fish 3 of 5 days, January 8th, 2024 through January 13th 2024, the boat must send an email to Lennymemorialtournament@gmail.com email prior to 8 am to declare their day of fishing.

  • Women’s and Junior’s Tournament: Fish 1 of 2 days (January 6th or January 7th 2024) boat must send email to Lennymemorialtournament@gmail.com email prior to 8 am to declare their day of fishing.

  • Fishing Time - Lines in 8:30am. Lines out 3:30pm. The deadline for weigh-in will be 5:30pm.

  • Fish out of Fort Pierce Inlet. 50NM of entrance buoy of the Fort Pierce Inlet (N 27d 28.38m AND W 80 d16.84m).

  • Verification - Honor system, no observers. Header must clear rod tip or mate must grab leader for the official catch.

  • Circle Hooks only. Hooks: Federally regulated hooks are required.

  • Conventional reels only.

  • Hook and Hand is allowed one time only.

  • Sailfish& White Marlin 100 points per release. Blue Marlin 200 Points per release.

  • Ties will be broken on time.

  • Maximum IGFA Rated 20# test is permitted. There is no bonus for lighter line and lines will be subject to random testing by the tournament committee.

  • Six (6) lines are permitted per boat. Four (4) hooked lines; Two (2) teaser lines with no hooks.


Meat Fish Rules

  • Fish 3 of 7 days, January 8th, 2024 through January 13th 2024, boat must send an email to Lennymemorialtournament@gmail.com email prior to 8 am to declare their day of fishing.

  • Women’s and Junior’s Tournament: Fish 1 of 2 days (January 6th or January 7th 2023) boat must send email to Lennymemorialtournament@gmail.com email prior to 8 am to declare their day of fishing.

  • Fishing Time - Lines in 8:30am. Lines out 3:30pm. The deadline for weigh-in will be 5:30pm.

  • Fishing Boundaries- Fish out of Fort Pierce Inlet. 50NM of entrance buoy of the Fort Pierce Inlet (N 27d 28.38m AND W 80 d16.84m).

  • Eligible Species: Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, and King.

  • Live bait and J Hooks allowed for meat fish. Any sails caught with J Hook are disqualified.

  • Top Prize Aggregate Format- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 50-30-20 split.

  • The objective is to weigh all species. One fish per species may be weighed only.

  • Ties will be broken by total weight. One point per pound for all species

  • Example: Boat A weighs 3 species for a total of 90 Ibs and Boat B weighs four species for a total of 50 lbs Boat B would win.

  • Weigh-in locations: Pelican Yacht Club, Fish Heads of Stuart, Little Jim Bait & Tackle
